Vale Community Mediation Service is a National Open College Network approved training centre.
National Open College Network Programme in Community Mediation Skills
We deliver this programme to train new Community Mediators. It usually takes about 6 months to complete, and involves both classroom-based work and practical experience. We deliver this course as appropriate for the needs of our service. If you are interested please contact our office.
Mediation Awareness
This course is aimed at Housing Professionals who are not familiar with the use of mediation in neighbourhood disputes. It is a half day course which explains the mediation process, looks at how mediation can be used by housing providers and when referral is appropriate. It is not an accredited course. The cost of this course depends upon the number of participants. We can usually arrange delivery of this course at venues and dates to suit your needs. Please contact us for more information.
Mediation and Conflict Resolution Skills
VCMS has run a number of workshops, short training sessions and awareness raising events together with our partners. This includes both stand-alone training, and sessions forming part of tenant events or conferences. If you would be interested in working with us to develop specific training packages, targeted to your needs, please contact us to discuss costs and availability.
